Privacy Policy

What information we collect, how we use it, and who we share it with.
1. Overview
AU PLAYS (“we,” “our,” “us”) operates a General-audience AI character chat service. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect and how we handle it.
By using the service you agree to this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
2. Information We Collect
- Account information — your email address, and your name if you sign in with Google. Guest sessions receive an anonymous account automatically so you can try characters before signing up.
- Conversation content — the messages you send to characters and the AI responses you receive.
- Transaction information — your purchase history and W (service credit) balance. Payment card details are collected and stored by our payment processor, Lemon Squeezy, never by us.
- Usage and device information — IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and similar technical data collected automatically to keep the service secure and working.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To operate the chat service and keep your conversations and W balance in sync across sessions and devices.
- To process purchases of W and apply them to your account.
- To detect abuse and fraud, fix bugs, and improve the reliability of the service.
- To respond when you contact support.
4. AI Processing
Character responses are generated using Anthropic’s Claude models. Your messages are sent to Anthropic to generate a reply. Anthropic does not use content sent through our API integration to train its models.
We do not sell your conversation content to anyone.
5. Who We Share Information With
- Anthropic — to generate AI character responses.
- Supabase — our database and authentication provider.
- Lemon Squeezy — our payment processor and merchant of record for W purchases.
- Vercel — our hosting provider.
We disclose information beyond this only if required by law, or where reasonably necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of AU PLAYS or our users.
6. Data Retention
- We keep your account and conversation data for as long as your account is active.
- If you delete your account, we delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we must keep records to comply with the law — for example, payment and tax records.
7. Children’s Privacy
AU PLAYS is a General-audience service and is not directed at children. It contains no sexual or pornographic content, and all characters are original, fictional creations who are 19 or older.
- You must be at least 18, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, to create an account and purchase W. Use of the service by anyone under 13 is prohibited.
- If we learn we have collected information from a child without valid parental consent, we will delete it as soon as possible. Please report this to support@auplays.com.
8. Your Rights and Choices
- You can access or update your account information from the Settings screen at any time.
- You can request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting support@auplays.com.
- You can withdraw an optional consent, such as data use for service improvement, at any time from Settings where offered.
- Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal data. Contact us to exercise them.
9. Cookies and Local Storage
We use browser local storage to keep you signed in and to remember preferences such as your theme. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party ad tracking.
10. International Users
AU PLAYS is operated from the Republic of Korea and serves users globally. By using the service, you consent to your information being processed and stored in Korea and in the countries where the service providers listed in Section 5 operate.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the service. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Policy.
